In light of usage of smart cameras in public places, CNIL has disseminated its position through a draft document in order to find a balance between the placement of such devices and the respect for individual privacy rights. These devices contain automated image processing software which might impact privacy of people captures in the images. The deadline for the consultation is 8th March 2022.
